On Saturday,\u00a0November 29 2025 at 19.00<\/strong>, the\u00a0Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC)<\/strong>\u00a0lights up and transforms into the city\u2019s most enchanting Christmas destination. The festive celebration, hosted by actress\u00a0Evgenia Samara<\/strong>, marks the opening of the SNFCC Christmas World, made possible by\u00a0a grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF)<\/strong>, with\u00a0free admission<\/strong>\u00a0for all.<\/p>\n

On\u00a0November 29<\/strong>, countless festive lights illuminate the 80 plane trees along the Canal and the three decorated Christmas trees standing proudly in the Agora. The Stavros Niarchos Park becomes a dreamlike landscape through the\u00a0\u201cBioLumina\u201d Light Installations Festival<\/strong>, inspired by bioluminescence\u2014the ability of certain living organisms to produce and emit light. Four artworks by acclaimed international artists and two Greek contributions transform the Park using light as their medium. The\u00a0Canal Fountains<\/strong>\u00a0join the spectacle in their own spectacular way: dancing and glowing to Christmas rhythms. Completing the quintessential holiday stroll in Athens is the\u00a0Ice Rink on the Canal<\/strong>, ready to welcome both experienced and first-time skaters.<\/p>\n

The evening begins at\u00a019.00<\/strong>\u00a0sharp in the SNFCC Agora, where the stage is set to welcome the\u00a0Loop Quartet<\/strong>\u2014four voices that become instruments, rhythm, and melody, turning carols, swing classics, and pop hits such as \u201cCarol of the Bells,\u201d \u201cRocking Around the Christmas Tree,\u201d and \u201cAll I Want for Christmas\u201d into contemporary polyphonic experiences.<\/p>\n

They are followed by\u00a0Nina Mazani<\/strong>, one of the most dynamic new artists of the Greek music scene. With her distinctive voice and accompanied by her five\u2013member band, she presents a program created especially for the night, filled with swing and jazz versions of major hits such as \u201cCareless Whisper,\u201d \u201cGimme! Gimme! Gimme!,\u201d \u201cLet\u2019s Get Loud,\u201d \u201cHot Stuff,\u201d and many more.<\/p>\n

The November 29 celebration will be broadcast live on ERT2 Sports as well as on the\u00a0SNFCC\u2019s YouTube<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Facebook<\/a>\u00a0channels, and will also be available on ERTFLIX. Additionally, it will be livestreamed at the David Geffen Hall of New York\u2019s Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, as part of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation\u2013Lincoln Center (SNF-LC) Agora Initiative\u2014a partnership aimed at reimagining public space, which includes the \u201cTwin Agoras\u201d at the SNFCC and Lincoln Center. The broadcast will also be available through the digital channels of Johns Hopkins University and UCLA in the United States.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0SNFCC Ice Rink<\/strong>\u00a0<\/a>opens once again on the northern side of the Canal, inviting visitors of all ages to experience the magic of ice skating.<\/p>\n

Within the warm atmosphere of the Christmas World, the Christmas Volunteer Blood Drive at the SNFCC<\/a><\/strong> will operate on Saturday, December 6<\/strong>, and\u00a0Sunday, December 7<\/strong>, from\u00a012.00 to 19.00<\/strong>, at the\u00a0Book Castle of the National Library of Greece (NLG)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
