It is located in Trikala, one of the most beautiful Greek cities which is only a 3h40 drive from Athens. The city has a river that crosses the town in the middle which make it even more beautiful, and also it’s one of the most bike-friendly places in the country. So, this is the best period to visit Trikala and discover the city at its best. You could combine your visit at Trikala with a visit at Meteora, the unique Greek landscape of rock monasteries.
This year, the city has already lit up its Christmas tree — the largest natural Christmas tree in Greece — with celebrations and fireworks, making it one of the first Greek cities to embrace the festive spirit. If you’re travellingin Athens and would like to visit Trikala, even just for a day trip, there are several organized bus excursions available. We can also arrange a private transfer for you and your family for a more personalized experience.
About the park:
It was December 9, 2011 when Santa Claus transformed the Matsopoulos Mill in Trikala into the largest Christmas theme park in Greece, the “Mill of the Elves”.
The old chimneys took off and have been working non-stop ever since, with the sole purpose of bringing joy to young and old alike. Like every year, this year too, something new is happening at the Elves’ Mill… A new story that will take young and old alike to a fairytale and magical world!
A little girl, Alice, while playing in the countryside with her sister, saw a white rabbit running around, shouting that she was late. Alice followed it to the bank of a river, and then entered the nest where the White Rabbit had previously entered. But she discovers that there is no gravity and floats into the nest. When he reached the floor of the nest, he saw a tiny door that has the gift of speech. Wanting to get through the door, the doorknob advised her to drink a potion that will make her small so she can fit through the door and find the White Bunny.
Through fairy tale paths she met various heroes, Captain Dodo, Mad Hatter, Caterpillar, the Queen of Queen of Hearts with her card guards, the Rabbit, the Cat and many others and ended up in the Rabbit Hole, jumped in and found herself in the Elf Mill where everything was beautiful, colorful, decorated and bright for Christmas. Santa Claus, the elves and all the heroes of the park welcomed her with joy, treated her to chocolates and various sweets and she decided to stay with them this Christmas and tell them about the adventures she had on this dreamy journey.
