Museum of Folk Art and Tradition “Angeliki Hatzimichali” of the Municipality of Athens: “Let’s go like we used to…”
With a touch of nostalgia, Carnival opens the Triodion in Plaka with an exhibition of naive paintings by artists Ersi – Alexia Hatzimichali (1918 – 2001), daughter of Angeliki
Hatzimichali and Giorgos Savvakis (1922 – 2004), with works depicting life in the taverns and neighborhoods of Old Athens.
Opening hours: Tuesday – Friday 11:00 – 16:00, Saturday – Sunday | 10:00 -15:00, closed on Mondays
Admission is free to the public.

11:00 | Mayor Dimitris Bey Park, Neos Kosmos
Children’s carnival celebration with clowns, magicians, balloon artists, face painting, and carnival craft workshops.
17:00 | Syntagma Square – Ermou – Aeolus – Kotzia Square
Carnival Parade
An amazing show with carnival performers, dancing, music and lots of surprises. The Athens Municipal Orchestra will kick off the event Athens Municipal Philharmonic Orchestra, while the musical groups Bloco Swingueira, Global Daoulia, the cultural association “O Molyvos” and the Greek Cheerleaders team will keep the rhythm going. At the same time, the radio station Lamsi 92.3 will broadcast live from a radio booth in Syntagma Square.
19.00 | Kotzia Square
Carnival Party
The big carnival parade will end at Kotzia Square, where Dimitris Makalias will welcome the carnival participants. This will be followed by a big carnival party with Athens Dee Jay 95.2, which will broadcast carnival music.
But apart from the carnival events of Athens, you can also visit the Municipality of Renti which has the biggest and most popular in Attica, Moschato carnival. Check all the events here.
