Every year since 2001, Athens Jazz has been meeting us at the end of spring, marking the official start of the concert summer in Athens. The city’s longest-running music institution with free admission hosts a variety of jazz trends, bands and acts with international careers and recognition from every corner of the globe, attracting more than 6,000 visitors a day.

For 7 consecutive days, Technopolis is the focal point of the now established annual gathering for Athenians and visitors to the city, an exciting celebration, with jazz music at its core. It opens its doors, from morning till night, and welcomes people of all ages to enjoy a rich – international standards – music programme with live shows and parallel activities in Gazi and throughout the city.

To date, more than 250 international and domestic bands and 2,850 musicians from 28 countries have participated in Athens Jazz.

Athens Jazz comes more dynamic than ever from 26th of May to 1st of June at Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens, presenting an impressive, international line-up that fully expresses the no-holds-barred nature of jazz. For the 24th year, the city’s longest-running musical institution gives us the opportunity to enjoy live and with free admission on the main stage of Technopolis all the trends of jazz worldwide through 21 concerts of renowned artists and up-and-coming groups from Greece and abroad, making the festival one of the most diverse in recent years.

The Meet Market meets the 24th Athens Jazz – and together they welcome the summer! From Monday 26 May to Sunday 1 June, The Meet Market, the city’s favourite market, meets the 24th Athens Jazz, the festival-institution – now – of Athens, and wink at summer by setting up the biggest celebration of the year at Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens. Our favorite season is here! Summer nights with music, colors, cocktails and jazz vibes under the Athenian sky. We wander around the colourful booths full of handmade creations, enjoy delicious street food, cold beers and refreshing cocktails, and dance to the free jazz concerts of the Athens Jazz Festival – all under the light of Technopolis’ iconic red chimneys.

Their unique stories and share their love for #handmade creations. From well-designed clothes, special accessories, unique jewellery, home items, ceramics, posters, natural skincare and wellness products, to small taste treasures from Greek producers. You start out to shop and end up loving… the creation, the people, the atmosphere, the music – the whole experience. And of course, staying true to our motto “First a Meet, then a Market”, all of the above will happen alongside back-to-back DJ sets, activities and pleasant surprises for our young visitors – completely free of charge – while, with a stroll from the Central Cashier/Info Point, you can all take part in the #GreatDraw, where 3 lucky winners will win a basket full of gifts from our exhibitors.

Kosmos Jazz Party

For the fourth year, the radio station Kosmos 93.6… is carried away by the energy of the Athens Jazz scene and takes the pulse outside Technopolis! The Kosmos Jazz Party returns and sets up a night at the neighbouring Gazarte where soul meets funk, blues, afrobeat and disco and all together the virtuosity of jazz. The party starts with DJ sets from Kosmos radio producers and culminates with a live show that perfectly matches the festival’s style: unpredictable and full of dance! Iliana Tsapatsari, the charismatic voice of Gadjo Dilo, takes to the stage, where she meets for the first time the Datfunk Band, an explosive organ trio with uplifting moods. Guest of the evening, the top saxophonist Vassilis Xenopoulos, who turns every performance into an experience full of intensity and passion.
