The 19th Comicdom CON Athens, Greece’s largest international comics festival returns, for its 19th edition, on May 16, 17 and 18 and it will take place in the Technopolis City of Athens.

Exhibition: 90 Years DC – The moments we loved
21 Greek artists have chosen their favorite moment from the DC publishing universe and its imprints and present their own version, a tribute to the characters and events we have loved!

Exhibition.
Black + White. Writer + Illustrator. Exhibition + Anthology. Absolute bipolar. The exclusive writer, the unsung catalyst of comics creation, chooses his own script and illustrator, with a free theme. The only limitation is black and white.

Honored Artist: Thanasis Petrou
Thanasis Petrou, the award-winning creator and comics professor who has signed some of the most important Greek comics over the last 20 years, with a focus on literary metaphors and Greek history and reality, is this year’s honored artist and illustrator of the official visual artist of the festival. During the festival, an exhibition of more than 40 original works by the artist will be hosted.

International Guests
As every year, the festival hosts distinguished guests, including Giorgio Cavazzano, the iconic pen of Italian Disney comics, award-winning Sylvain Vallée with works such as “Tananarivi” and “Habemus Bastard”, and the legendary Simon Bisley with his heavy, explosive aesthetic. Also present are American illustrator, visual artist, and comics creator Shaenon K. Garrity, Finnish illustrator, visual artist, and comics creator Terhi Ekebom, and Egyptian illustrator 8bitfaz (Hossam Fazulla), bringing diversity and contemporary questions to comics art.
