Tip of the day – 53rd Book Festival of Athens

One of the best things you can do every September in Athens to feel like a local is visiting the Book Festival, usually held  in Pedion Areos or Zappeio – this  year will be in Pedion Areos, the largest park of Athens.  You will find all kind of books, Greek and international, but in any case, this is a beautiful way to spend your afternoon having a walk in  the park, exploring also the neighborhood of Kypseli. This year’s  theme is Kids Reading,  so be prepared that there will be  a lot of  events for children, so it’s the place to be  in Athens  if you are travelling  with  your kids.

Book Bazaar @ Klafthmonos square

Also, once or twice a year, there is a huge book bazaar happening in Klafthmonos square, where you could find many many books at discount. The next bazaar takes place from January 23rd to 2nd of February 2026.

200 Publishers – Thousands of Books – Prices from €1
The Book Bazaar is an established event that has been loved by the general public for twenty-eight years, offering thousands of book titles at very low prices, starting at just €1! Publishers from all over Greece (members of primary associations) participate, offering over 9,000 book titles. From Friday, January 23 to Sunday, February 15, 2026, Klathmonos Square will host the largest and best-organized Book Bazaar in Athens, in a modern outdoor and covered facility. Visitors to the Bazaar will have the opportunity to discover and purchase books from a rich collection of titles covering all subject categories and aimed at people of all ages. The 29th Book Bazaar 2026 will be open daily, Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., from January 23 to February 15, 2026. We invite you all to visit us and discover unique books at unique prices!
