Tip of the day – Petit Paris d’Athènes 2024

There is a neighborhood in Athens that every October transforms into a Parisian neighborhood, like being in Montmartre, and during these  days you can attend in this area many concerts, plays, outdoors games like the french petanque, the creation of a graffiti or a mural and many other really interesting things.

This athenian neighborhood is Metaxourgeio where its street names come from important personalities from France: Victor Hugo, Marne, the name of the tributary of the Seine river, Maizonos by Nicolas-Joseph Maison, the french politician, Favierou from  Charles Nicolas Fabvier, Satovriandou  by François-Auguste-René de Chateaubriand, Veranzerou by Pierre Jean de Beranger etc

This is the Petit Paris d’ Athènes Festival, and this year, the theme of the festival is Impressionism & Diplomacy, diving into some thought-provoking questions. In a world filled with conflicts, one can’t help but ask: Is humanity on the edge of a Third World War? What happened to the basic need for peace? While the Impressionists tried to prevent the First World War, they ultimately fell short. Now, 110 years later, can this timeless artistic movement spark a new kind of diplomacy focused on a brighter, kinder future?

Join them in the streets of Metaxourgio from 10th to 20th of October for free performances, visual exhibitions, and interactive workshops as we celebrate the amazing connection between art and advocacy. You might not get any answers but you’ll get a real taste of the area’s heart and creativity.
