Tip of the day – Plan your summer 2025 in Crete | According to CNTraveller

Yesterday we suggested Andros island as  your next holidays Greek destination for summer 2025, today we ‘ll say  Crete. You will choose – there are so many options.  But have in  mind that in Crete you will need more days to enjoy it, around a week maybe: it’s not only that it’s a long island, but there are so many great things to do and to see. Conde Nest Traveller puts in a list the 11 best things to do in Crete and it is a good beginning point  to start planning your trip.

If you let us adding two more things on  the list is a hiking on the two impressive mountains of Crete: Psiloritis and Lefka Ori and visiting as well some  mountainous villages such as Anogia for a real local experience. Have also in mind that driving in Crete is not the best thing you can do, even if sometimes it’s necessary,  so be very careful on streets and with other drivers!

Useful  tip: In the island, there are two ports:  Chania  and Heraklion, so choose wisely according to your stay and your plan. And, there is also a ferry connection  between Santorini and Crete, so you can  even do an island hopping if you already book a ferry or plane to Santorini. Of course, there is the chance to go there by plane and still there are two airports in Chania and Heraklion too.
