Tip of the day – Plan your summer 2025 in Evia | According to European Location Award 2022

Chiliadou Beach in central Evia won the EUFCN Location Award 2022 for “Triangle of Sadness”. The natural landscape of Chiliadou Beach emerged as one of the protagonists of Ruben Östlund’s Triangle of Sadness. The location washed by the Aegean Sea was featured as the castaway island where the characters find themselves after the explosion of the yacht. Most of the film was shot on Chiliadou Beach.Feb 19, 2023. 

Chilidou beach is indeed one of the most beautiful Greek beaches, and the most popular in Evia island. An island that you don’t need to take a ferry to get there, as you could pass Chalkida bridge, only 1h from Athens, and then heading north, 135km in total from Athens. There are so many things to do in  the area, such as the trekking in Stropones canyon,  an easy-level hike that starts from Steni, a very beautiful mountainous village of Evia and ends up at Chiliadou beach to swim. You can even climb up to the peak of Dirfys mountain, the “Greek Fuji” as local hikers call it. It’s perfect even for a day trip from Athens, but we highly suggest to add some more days in your plan to explore Evia. Have in mind that there is also a smaller nude beach in Chiliadou, as well the location is really popular among free campers, so the weekends of summer will be really crowded.
