Summer sales: Don’t forget to check also the official dates of sales period, as well the Sundays that the shops will remain open – for example, the 2025 summer sales start on 14 July and will run until 31 August. On Sunday 20 July most shops and shopping centres will remain open from 11.00 to 18.00.
Christmas period: With the holiday season underway, shops in Athens switch to their special Christmas trading hours — extended on weekdays and with several Sundays open for festive shopping. Expect stores to generally operate from 09:00 to 21:00 on weekdays, with shorter hours on weekends and selected Sundays available for convenient last-minute shopping. Keep in mind that most shops will close early or remain closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day.
